Building a Safe and Affordable Community in Fresno
Our mission at La Hacienda is to create a safe, affordable, and welcoming community in Fresno. We want families, seniors, and people with disabilities to have a place to live with dignity, security, and pride.
Thanks to the support of Self-Help Enterprises, HousingForce Fresno, and California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA), along with the City of Fresno and the State of California, La Hacienda has a path forward.
We are just getting started, and there’s a lot of work ahead. Step by step, we’re focused on restoring the park and building a safe, supportive community that residents can be proud to call home.
La Hacienda is committed to providing affordable, safe housing for families in need. We support housing organizations in connecting people to stable homes and keep city, county, and state partners informed about our progress in making this community thrive.
It was once called Trails End Mobile Home Park. For many years, the park faced serious problems. It was poorly managed, filled with trash, and had many safety hazards. Trespassing, squatting, and neglect made life hard for the residents.
In 2021, two fires broke out, destroying five homes and sadly taking one life. Things got worse, and the park was placed under receivership, a legal step where someone steps in to fix serious issues.
Later, it was acquired by a company, which started to execute a plan to close the park and sell its land to a developer. As the closure effort continued, many residents were displaced. Tragically, as many had very limited options, some had become homeless. The residents spoke up and fought to protect their homes.
That’s when a nonprofit organization stepped in with a new plan: to buy the park, keep it affordable, and make it safe again. That’s how La Hacienda Mobile Home Park got a second chance.
Our goal is to keep La Hacienda as a high-quality and affordable housing option in Fresno. We’re focused on improving park conditions while making sure residents can continue to live here without being priced out. Clean spaces, working utilities, and a safer environment are part of our long-term plan.
We’re investing in the park’s future. This means repairing infrastructure, improving safety, and maintaining affordability. La Hacienda isn’t just housing. It’s a stable, well-managed community that people can count on.
La Hacienda supports families searching for affordable housing, housing organizations connecting people to homes, and local and state leaders who have invested in this project and want to see a thriving community.
At La Hacienda, we focus on three main goals to ensure that our residents have a reliable place to live, now and in the future:
Our goals are designed to support not just current residents but also families searching for affordable housing, housing organizations helping them find a home, and the local and state leaders who have invested in this project and want to see it succeed.
At La Hacienda, we take action to make sure the park stays a safe, affordable place to live:
La Hacienda focuses on affordability, safety, and a strong sense of community. Residents, housing organizations, and local and state leaders who invested in this project can ensure that La Hacienda grows as a welcoming and supportive home for everyone.
The City of Fresno, State of California, and various organizations had made significant investments and efforts to acquire La Hacienda Mobile Home Park and restore it to a safe, affordable place for residents. We will be making immediate improvements, including removing debris, improving safety, removing dilapidated homes, and addressing safety hazards. We’re also focused on providing additional affordable homes for low to moderate income families.
With these upgrades, we aim to create a welcoming environment where families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities can thrive. This is only the beginning. Our long-term plans will continue to improve the park, ensuring that La Hacienda remains a trusted community for years to come.
